Classes, Education

From the beginning, an essential component of SeppLeaf's business was sharing technical expertise, and to this day education informs every project we help with. Through trade shows, seminars, conferences and workshops, as well as store demonstrations and classes, helping customers learn about the best materials and methods is at the heart of our business.

Company Beginnings

The roots of the current gold leaf business were first put down in New York in 1956, with John E. Sepp Import Agencies, which represented foreign manufacturers of lighting, furniture and picture frames. John's son Peter took a keen interest in the company. Peter recognized an exciting opportunity to import and distribute gold leaf products here in the U.S. By the eighties, the gold leaf market outpaced the Agency business, and the full change over to import and distribution happened when SeppLeaf Products was incorporated in 1984.

SeppLeaf Family

Our leadership now includes Peter's daughter Lauren, and team members are logistics, procurement, admin, gilders, tech and sales support specialists who have been with us for decades. Whether the project you bring is historic or contemporary, small or large, local or international, we are always thrilled to welcome and support our SeppLeaf family of artists and artisans.

Lauren Sepp, who is Vice President of SeppLeaf Products, is the third generation in her family business which specializes in gilding products for the trade. After receiving her B.S. in Merchandising from the University of Delaware, Lauren joined the company in New York City, where it has served as a local and international resource for gold leaf and related materials for over five decades. She enjoys bringing traditional and innovative products to market, and helping gilders and artisans around the world create beauty with gold leaf.
